I am posting my first blog. Blogging is something I have always wanted to do, but never got the chance. Now, I am finally blogging because my English teacher, Ms. Lawrence, assigned me an independent reading project that requires blogging. The book that I am reading for this blogging assignment is Mexican Whiteboy by Matt de la Pena. The book seems very exciting, and I can't wait to begin reading it. Hopefully, I won't wait until the last day to finish this independent reading project. In the past, I have had a history of procrastinating and waiting to complete assignments until the night before the due date. For example, the first reading project that Ms. Lawrence was assigned September 23rd and due on November 13th. I slowly finished reading the book that I chose and was in a rush to begin writing a mandated essay and creating a mandated poster board. Until November 12th, I had not finished writing any of my essay or designing any part of my poster. I was screwed; I had one night to finish my entire English project! I still don't understand how I successfully finished my project. Since November 12th was an inservice day, I woke up at 8 AM and immediately started working on my project. After 18 hours of hard work and effort, I finally had finished my project. Although I recieved an A on my project, I never want to go throught that terrifying, nerve-wracking experience again, so I will try my best to make sure that I finish my project successfully and well before the given due date.
